Heath Rhodes was a lawyer in California, but after a long career in the law, he reached a crossroads. He had a new family, and his passion had always been music. He could stay put and keep doing what he was comfortable with, or he could finally follow his dream — a life-long dream his wife Kari wanted him to pursue as much as he did.
So they worked to sell their dream log home they had built themselves in the Tahoe National Forest. In the middle of a snowstorm, Heath and Kari packed up their 5 little ones, put all their belongings of a lifetime into storage, sold everything else and got on a plane to Nashville.
Heath hung on to his dream in the middle of a few storms and now he can be found on the stages of Nashville. Heath also has a passion for speaking and writing to inspire about the power of holding tight to a dream. Heath and his wife and family are chasing a dream they believe is inspired. The journey has after losing the first love of his life and become a solo parent of three toddlers Heath knows first hand how short life can be had how each gift should be honored. It has not but with the help of his fourteen kids and gift of renewed love in his wife Kari he has vowed to go all-in for his dream.
When asked how could a Dad of fourteen with a successful law practice rising to the pinnacle of law by arguing a major case, for California’s then-Secretary of State at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C., pack it all in and follow a dream of becoming a Nashville star? Heath replied, “We have a choice to take the safe road or to live the big dream I am done with the safe road”.
Recently Heath finished the songs for a first album which he recorded with his Producer and friend, Rick Henn, and he is now out and about Nashville playing, singing and inspiring others. One of his songs, “Fly Free”, written when he was 18, expresses his desire to rise up and share his love of life and music with everyone with ears to hear. And now that desire is finally being fulfilled. The new album, soon to be released will contain a sample of Heath Rhodes’s songs from throughout his rich and rewarding life, promising to touch, inspire and transport his listeners on a musical tour of beauty, nature, life, love, family, and friendship like only a mature troubadour could dream of doing.
